When You Start Questioning the Vision God Gave You

When it's not enough


The Battle is Real.


The battle to keep moving forward in bringing forth the vision He has placed in my heart is real.


Some days, I feel strong—confident, grounded, and ready to take on the world.

Then there are other days...


When you're bringing forth anything—especially a vision placed in your heart by God—there will be other days.


Sometimes those days come because I’m looking everywhere but forward. Because I’m leaning on my own understanding instead of trusting His direction. Because I’m trying to push ahead with my own strength.


I begin questioning the vision inside of me because I’m listening to everything except what He’s already said.


Then I realize—I’ve been questioning the wrong thing.


Who said your vision had to look like someone else’s?

  • “Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.” —Galatians 6:4 (NLT)

Who said it had to be perfect—and that you had to be?

  • “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” —2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)

Who said you couldn’t do it?

  • “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” —Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)

  • “He equips you with everything good for doing His will.” —Hebrews 13:21 (NIV)

Who said there’s no way this can happen?

  • “I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” —Philippians 1:6 (NLT)

  • Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” —Mark 10:27 (NIV)

  • “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. — Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV)

Who said it was going to be easy?

  • “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33 (NIV)

But then again...Who said it had to be so hard—that you had to carry it alone?

  • “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest... For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” —Matthew 11:28–30 (NIV)

  • “My grace is sufficient for you.” —2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) (I know it’s a repeat but it’s worth repeating)

  • “I will never leave you or forsake you.” —Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)


Doubt says a lot of things.

Fear says a lot of things.

Comparison says a lot of things.

Exhaustion says a lot of things.

Even my own expectations say a lot of things.


But I’ve decided—and will keep deciding—to believe what He says about me and about this vision.


Because when He speaks:

Mountains move.

Things change.

And I know that all things work together for my good. —Romans 8:28 (NIV)


Because once He speaks something into existence:

No obstacle,

No delay,

No “off” day

can stop it from coming to pass.

Write it down. Keep it close. Repeat it. Believe it.

And rest.

Because what He says is true.

And what He says will happen—will happen.
